Together we make big things possible!
What an amazing morning! Our local community continues to show love and support in BIG ways! Over the course of two hours, over one thousand books found new homes, 50+ hand sanitizers were distributed, and a collection of nonperishables was gathered to benefit Brooklyn Relief Kitchen. Big THANK YOU to Jessica, the Lefferts Gardens Montessori School community, the Brooklyn Book Bodega, Zach & Ivy, and the PLG community! Together we make big things possible! Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Brooklyn Book Bodega, and donations from the local community, we invite you to refresh your child's library with new and like-new books from the Kiddie Science Lab Book Giveaway! We have board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, popular titles, graphic novels, young adult books, holiday-themed books, hardcovers, and more!
Bring a bag, wear a mask, and support our mission with a tax deductible donation to Kiddie Science via Paypal or Venmo (KiddieScience@gmail.com or @KiddieScience) During our recent Sip 'n Science workshop, we explored color and used science to create beautiful and unique works of art. We used an array of materials, and learned how a simple hydrophobic ingredient can help create something amazing. We got messy, socialized over light snack and wine, and enjoyed the wonders of science.
Thank you for joining us and stay tuned for more adult programming coming to the Lab! Cheers to science! Thank you for joining us for the recent No Limits event! Special thanks to Mercedes-Benz and the National Girls Collaborative Project. Highlights from our event included a car obstacle course, maze, and ramps to race on. Participants received a free Matchbox replica of the Mercedes-Benz 220SE commemorating Ewy Rosqvist’s historic Argentinian Grand Prix performance.
It was a fun and informative time at the Kiddie Science Lab with Dr. Kristen Brumleve of PM Pediatrics Cobble Hill and Dr. Sonia Patel from PM Pediatrics in Bensonhurst. Participants explored emergency scenarios and practiced what to say and do in an emergency situation. The hands-on portion of the workshop involved exploring first aid supplies and learning how to take care of a cut/scrape. Each participant then put together their own basic first aid kit.
As part of our workshop discussion, we recommend all families engage in discussing the following: - What is your fire and/or emergency situation plan? - What is/are the phone option(s) in your home in case 911 needs to be contacted? - Does everyone in the household know their address and phone number? |
