Thank you for joining us for the recent No Limits event! Special thanks to Mercedes-Benz and the National Girls Collaborative Project. Highlights from our event included a car obstacle course, maze, and ramps to race on. Participants received a free Matchbox replica of the Mercedes-Benz 220SE commemorating Ewy Rosqvist’s historic Argentinian Grand Prix performance. It was a fun and informative time at the Kiddie Science Lab with Dr. Kristen Brumleve of PM Pediatrics Cobble Hill and Dr. Sonia Patel from PM Pediatrics in Bensonhurst. Participants explored emergency scenarios and practiced what to say and do in an emergency situation. The hands-on portion of the workshop involved exploring first aid supplies and learning how to take care of a cut/scrape. Each participant then put together their own basic first aid kit.
As part of our workshop discussion, we recommend all families engage in discussing the following: - What is your fire and/or emergency situation plan? - What is/are the phone option(s) in your home in case 911 needs to be contacted? - Does everyone in the household know their address and phone number? Bringing science to the community is one of our favorite things! Thank you for joining us during the Maple Street block party as we explored giant bubbles then enjoyed a soda rocket demonstration.
It's simple biology, yet there's lots to talk about! Join us for a fun and informative afternoon for girls and their grown-up to discuss and explore menstruation.
This workshop involves the discussion of female anatomical parts using scientifically appropriate language. We'll explore social and biological aspects of periods and learn about the products available to menstruating women. Participants will have opportunity to explore and learn about the history and use of tampons, pads, and more. Goodie bags will be available to daughter-adult duos to continue the discussion and exploration at home. THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL. CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE WAIT LIST. |
