We've started our summer with field trip visits from local daycare groups, Camp Ft. Greene, and the Flatbush Beacon Center. Young scientists explored chemical reactions, cared for our garden, learned about urban agriculture, and met our backyard chickens.
Our summer of scientific exploration kicked off with Geology Rocks! Our young geologists explored the characteristics of rocks and minerals, and how they are classified. We learned about karst, and how water affects soil through erosion. In addition to all the science fun, we also cared for the backyard garden, released ladybugs, observed invertebrates, and harvested some tomatoes. The scientific fun continues!
