Rare science happened this weekend right here in Brooklyn! Did you get a chance to smell it?? A rare corpse flower bloomed this weekend for a very short time at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Without hesitation, Ms. Carmen and her nose were there to be a part of it! Not all plants in the BBG's collection are out for public viewing, so it was a wonderful surprise to learn that this amazing specie is so close to home.
The bloom time is super short, with the smell changing each day. If you didn't catch the corpse flower in bloom this time, you can aim to smell it next time it blooms, in roughly 3 to 5-ish years. Want to learn more and find out what it smelled like? Check it out HERE. Comments are closed.
