Engineering with Brackitz

Our young scientists age 2 and up have greatly enjoyed the set of Brackitz that we have at the Lab. At the start of each session, young scientists are given time to freely explore items at the Lab. This includes tinkering and creating with Brackitz.

We recently received a pulley set from the company for our young scientists to explore. They couldn't get their hands on it fast enough! Combined with our existing set, our young scientists now have the option to design simple machines that can lift and carry objects from one place to another. Currently, the group favorite is the crane.

The provided instructions are images only, which was challenging for some of our younger scientists, but the flexibility and ease of use of the product did not deter! Brackitz are sturdy for little hands and provide lots of options on what can be built with them. We look forward to incorporating them more into our upcoming engineering unit.
