Wrap up your holiday season and say goodbye to your tree at Mulchfest. Join NYC Parks and the New York City Department of Sanitation in the NYC holiday tradition of recycling your Christmas tree! Drop off your tree at any Mulchfest location between December 26 and January 11.

District 17's Ready for Success Career Expo is coming up on Saturday, January 11th. Employers, community partners, and professionals will meet with prospective job seekers, interns and volunteers. 10am to 2pm at the District 17 office located at 1224 Park Place. Learn more and register online.

Broaden your horizons with this Martin Luther King Jr day celebration, which is all about civil rights and literacy. The event strives to teach young visitors about the Civil Rights Movement and help them develop a love for reading. This year's event features authors Sharee Miller and Anastasia Higginbotham as well as music, arts and crafts and a free lunch. This free, family-friendly event takes place on Monday, January 20th, 11am to 3pm at Grace Reformed Church of Flatbush (1800 Bedford Ave).
