Kiddie science in the garden

8/1/2016

We continue our exploration of urban agriculture at Q Gardens! At the beginning of each workshop, young scientists water the garden and we make observations on what can be harvested. We've been able to enjoy tomatoes, which one of our young scientists said "tasted like the sunshine". So far, we've harvested a little over a pound of tomatoes, and taste tested some celery.

Some of the items currently growing in the garden include sunflowers, basil, lemon balm, kale, different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, mint, rosemary, celery, eggplant, a variety of flowers, mustard greens, cabbage, raspberries, and more.

The scientific fun continues!
