Autumn is a great time to observe nature's changes. Even in Brooklyn, there's lots of nature to be seen! In addition to the changing leaves, the urban plants and animals are already preparing for winter. Observe a squirrel What's it doing? The more common grey squirrel doesn’t hibernate during winter. That’s why it stores nuts before the cold months, to ensure a steady supply of food. Look on the ground There's lots more than leaves falling! Go on a nature walk and see what you find.
