Science Saturdays: Chemistry

At the start of our exploration, we discussed acids and bases and created a pH ruler to help us figure out if certain liquids were acids or bases. Red​ cabbage juice was used as an indicator.

We also explored chemical reactions that were based around the use of baking soda. Our goal was to determine how different acids react with baking soda. We utilized vinegar, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar. We determined that the different acids yield the same results.

The last experiment was a demonstration known as "Elephant's Toothpaste". It is a very messy exothermic reaction.
