Science Saturdays: Engineering

12/2/2015

The topic of engineering was presented and explored in an open-ended manner, while still focusing on key elements. We learned that engineers work together and form a plan that will guide them in the building of bridges, machines, tunnels...everything! We learned that the item being built must meet certain rules, or criteria, in order to work properly and safely. We used this knowledge to guide us through the building of our wooden race cars.

Our group experiment was Kiddie Science Town. The young scientists worked collaboratively to plan, design, and build a city that included buildings, roads, and bridges. We focused on the process of how buildings and roads are built.
