Social and Political Art workshop

2/1/2017

Coming to the Kiddie Science Lab for ages 8-12 from Brooklyn Doodles!

Having been inspired by the voices of our youth during the presidential elections and their participation in the most recent women's marches, I'd like to put together an art workshop to explore their diverse viewpoints.

Without a doubt, our children have a lot to say. And, regardless of where we stand on the political divide, their voices and opinions matter and should be heard. Artists often address and explore social, political and cultural issues through art. The art they create allows for conversation from a variety of viewpoints, learnings and understandings. This workshop aims to provide an outlet for our children's expression of views and opinions. Participants will be encouraged to think critically about the art they create and give positive feedback to their peers. They will explore social and political themes while working with a variety of mediums and materials. Participants will be able to bring in their own materials as well.

Ages: 8-12 years old
Cost: $185
The session will start on Saturday, March 4th
1pm to 3:30pm for 6 weeks

Please email [email protected] for more information and to sign up for the workshop.
