A new study shows that the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs had help...from volcanoes. By studying the layered lava flows from millions of years ago, scientists believe that eruptions were happening well before the asteroid hit. It is believed that volcanic activity contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs, 66 million years ago.

If you've been enjoying the Pluto pictures as much as we have, then you're going to love this. Meet Charon, Pluto's moon. During the historic flyby of Pluto by the New Horizons spacecraft, NASA was able to capture amazing images that have never been seen before. Combined, they make for a spectacular fly-through.

What's your hypothesis? NASA would like to know. Recently, stumped researchers welcomed help from the public in solving a number of nagging mysteries about dwarf planet Ceres. Among many things, there's a 4-mile high protrusion they've named "Lonely Mountain". What made that mountain?

The change in season means cooler weather for us in the northeast. The days get shorter, the leaves on the trees change color and eventually fall, and the fall migration begins. While we're all familiar with seeing birds migrating, see what the fall migration looks like in the Serengeti.

Its been a big year for NASA, and there's more to come! Last week, NASA announced the five proposals they would be funding for development. The proposed missions — four of which are led by women — will take the next step in vying for full approval and funding.
