V Is For Virus

2/12/2025

Viruses are tiny infectious germs that can only reproduce inside living cells. They infect humans, animals, and plants. Viruses are found in every ecosystem on Earth. Viruses are much smaller in size than the cells they infect.

Did you know……viruses are also known as pathogens. Some viruses cause mild illnesses, while others can lead to serious disease outbreaks and even death. Understanding how viruses work helps us protect ourselves and our communities.

Viruses are one of the smallest pathogens on our planet and can only be seen with a powerful microscope. Although their size is tiny, they greatly impact the health of living things. Viruses rely on other living cells to make copies of themselves. This is how they infect living things.
