Where did the living things go?

12/29/2024

Your love and concern for the living things at the Kiddie Science Lab means this question has been asked quite a lot recently! Although we've been making updates on our social media, we want to make it blog official! So, where did the living things at the Lab go?
The chickens moved just a few short blocks away with their entire enclosure. Their new family has been assisting with their care since October and were excited to take on this new responsibility. Over the last few months, they've learned how to meet the basic needs of hens, how to address emergencies that may arise, chicken anatomy basics, and how to keep Spicy Mildred happy in her advanced age. It was a transition made in full trust and confidence that the hens are in good hands.
Spaghetti, the turtle, now lives on Long Island. She too moved with her entire housing set-up, which helps the transition tremendously. Spaghetti's new home is in a non-commercial setting, so her days will be much quieter and relaxed. Her new family is very excited to have her and are prepared for the long-term commitment of having a turtle.
The plants were distributed among a couple of schools, and local friends and neighbors.

THANK YOU for your thoughtful concern for the living things at the Lab! And thank you to your young scientists for assisting in their care over the years.

The scientific fun continues....
