PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: FUN W/ PHYSICS
Thanks to support from Con Edison, Kiddie Science is proud to present the first of a series of science professional development workshops. K to 5 educators learn how to implement a hands-on physics unit aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. By participating in the activities, and learning the basic science behind them, our goal is to empower classroom teachers to present quality science lessons to their students. Classroom materials are included to ensure successful implementation of the unit.
Space is limited and masks are required. **REGISTRATION FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW CLOSED** |
This is an in-person workshop, taking place at the Kiddie Science Lab @ 509 Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn.
This professional development initiative is made possible thanks to a grant from Con Edison. To gauge program success, participating educators will be asked to complete brief, anonymous surveys. We thank you in advance for your time and help with this.
During this professional development workshop, educators can expect to participate in three hands-on activities that implement the Scientific Method, include related vocabulary and principles, and present extension activities that extend the learning beyond the initial lesson. We will also explore ways to differentiate the activities to meet the needs of our learners. At the end of the workshop, participants will receive the materials needed to implement the unit in their own classrooms.
