​SCIENCE SATURDAYS

Our flagship program, Science Saturdays engages young learners age 4 to 7 in meaningful experiences that expand their understanding and appreciation for science. Our inquiry-based, hands-on approach incorporates science vocabulary and provides opportunities for deeper connections to our subject.

​This program meets on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11:30am.

SUMMER & FALL 2024 SCIENCE SATURDAYS

October 5th, (no class 10/12), 19th, 26th
November 2nd, (no class 11/9), 16th, 23rd, (no class 11/30)
December 7th, 14th, & 21st
​$40 per session

This fall, we dive into our garden and explore all that grows there! We learn about botany and garden ecology with a focus on leaves and nature science. When you look at a leaf, what do you see?  We dive into this question and much more through science and art. We incorporate math and measuring by weighing our garden harvest. How much will we grow this year? At the end of the growing season, young scientists will help transition the garden to its winter state, in preparation for next growing season. Weather permitting, we spend time outside in our backyard and gated garden areas. On our last class, we engineer a cardboard gingerbread house!

​The Science Saturdays program incorporates:
​

• related scientific vocabulary and use of science tools.
• a project or exploration that complements our learning.
• a weekly re-cap newsletter outlining what we covered during our session.
• outside time in our gardens and with our chickens.
• social learning time and free exploration of Lab materials.
• assisting with the care of our indoor plants and our turtle Spaghetti.
• creative arts to complement our learning.

"There aren't a lot of classes that my daughter is willing to give up her Saturday mornings for but we have zero problems getting her excited about Science Saturdays. Miss Carmen is an engaging instructor that makes science fun. Each Saturday has a different theme. There is a lot of discussion around each theme, experiments, a snack, and typically a take home activity. I am always amazed at what my daughter has learned in the span of 2 hours of Kiddie Science. It's a great program for children that love science, children that have a billion questions about everything, and as a supplement to regular elementary education."

All needed materials are provided via the program fee. Advanced registration is required and we cannot accommodate any drop-ins. 

Refunds or credit for workshops cannot be issued.

Doors open 5 minutes prior to workshop start and end time. Timely arrival is imperative for a successful experience.
