KIDDIE SCIENCE LAB RULES AND POLICIES
*updated 7/28/24
Our goal is to provide the community we serve with a safe and nurturing environment where young children and families learn and grow. Below are the Lab rules and policies that apply during all in-person Kiddie Science programming:
- Program participants of all ages are expected to treat their peers, instructors, and the living things in the Lab space with respect. This includes appropriate use of language and safe use of bodies within the space.
- In the event a program participant displays unsafe behavior, which incudes threats, hate speech, and physical violence (or threat thereof), Kiddie Science reserves the right to withdraw participants from Lab programs or events. Refunds will not be issued for behavior-related withdrawals.
Please read and discuss these expectations with your child prior to registering. If your child is unable to follow these participation requirements or if their behavior endangers others or prevents an instructor’s ability to lead the group, we will inform the parent(s) in person or via phone or email.
- Science workshops are 100% funded through the program fee and we function on a shoestring budget. We do not issue refunds for workshops or events.
- Masks are no longer required at the Lab, though they are highly recommended and encouraged. You can expect for some educators to remain masked during some in-person programs and events.
- Unless stated otherwise, please do not bring snacks or personal items to the Lab during workshop times. All needed materials are provided via the program fee. Advanced registration is required and we cannot accommodate any drop-ins.
- Doors open 5 minutes prior to workshop/event start and end times.
- During workshops, photos and/or videos may be taken and shared for Kiddie Science marketing and grant related purposes. Please let us know if you prefer no pictures/videos.
- In the case of a health emergency, inclement weather, low enrollment, or other unforeseen event, Kiddie Science reserves the right to cancel a workshop or event. Registered participants affected by this type of cancellation will be issued a workshop credit.
By registering for Kiddie Science programs or events, you agree to the Rules and Policies outlined above.
