Join us for an afternoon of science fun while supporting free science programming in the community. At 1pm, we will present a free 30-minute demo lesson for all ages. From there, join us upstairs for free science-themed gift wrap (with purchase) and the return of science trivia! Answer science questions to win cool prizes. You can also enter to win free science workshops.

It was a fun afternoon exploring the science of bubbles. First, we discussed what a bubble is. Next, we focused on a question: what is the shape of a bubble? We used different types of items as bubble wands and no matter what shape we used, we observed that the bubbles are always round. Next, we explored what makes the perfect bubble solution. We used a combination of water, liquid soap, glycerin, and corn syrup to create a solution that was just sticky enough to make giant bubbles. We shaped chenille stems into desired shapes and the exploration began!

It was a fun afternoon exploring science at Greenwood Playground. We learned how to make and record observations and conducted an experiment using the scientific method to guide us in answering a question.

What soda makes the highest gush? We tested five different types of sodas, shared hypotheses, performed the experiment, and recorded our observations.

Thanks to the Friends of Greenwood Playground for having us! We'll return for more science fun on August 21st and August 31st at 2pm.

In collaboration with Trail Blazers Camps and thanks to the support of the City Parks Foundation, Kiddie Science recently organized a park clean-up event which doubled as a Pop-Up Science workshop. In addition to cleaning up the park, we learned some basic plant identification, did a lot of weeding, and spread mulch in the garden areas of the park. That Christmas tree you took to MulchFest helped care for our community plants and trees!

After a lot of hard work, we took a break and planted seeds to care for at home.

With the help of dozens of neighbors, we cleaned and weeded the garden areas, planted new plants, and spread mulch over the freshly cared for garden areas.
