We're excited to announce the first recipient of 'The DRINK PLG Business of the Month Award'! Each month we'll be dropping by a local business in the nabe that's making a particularly special contribution to our community to deliver two fine, well deserved, bottles of bubbles!! In these crazy days we need some good old empirical evidence and real facts (remember those!) January's winner is the awesome 'KIDDIE SCIENCE' founded by Carmen Castillo-Barrett (pictured with Howard Gibbins & Randy Berger from DRINK), a New York City teacher and mom to two young scientists. Kiddie Science works with public and private schools, home school/co-op groups, daycare centers, parents and community groups in NYC to bring hands-on science programming to young children of various ages during the school day, after-school, and during public school closure dates. KIDDIE SCIENCE is a labor of love and a real credit to our nabe! They are located at 509 Rogers Ave (Midwood and Rutland) and you can check out their programs online as well as donate (every single $ helps) at www.kiddiescience.org Cheers, Howard & Randy Drink PLG Wines & Spirits |

We're excited to be collaborating with Ms. Janelle of The Brooklyn Greenhouse, and the incorporation of their fun-filled and project-based program. Ms. Janelle, mom to 2 boys, is a certified NYC Department of Education teacher and Urban Farmer, is an AgriSTEM educator and founder of The Brooklyn Greenhouse, LLC, a business that provides hands-on indoor and outdoor agriculture-based STEAM education. Her interest in farming began when she realized her family's need for healthier food and self care. The Brooklyn Greenhouse also partners with The Youth Farm, a 1 acre Production and Education farm in Crown Heights/Flatbush Brooklyn providing fun hands on field trip workshops and tours. She is excited to join Miss Carmen and Kiddie Science this spring and summer! |
