Below are highlights from moment #2:
Thanks to support from the Brooklyn Public Library, the Friends of Greenwood Playground, and the Cortelyou Library Friends, we doubled our free Pop Up Science workshops. With free workshops at the Central, Pacific, and Cortelyou library branches, and free summer workshops at Greenwood Playground, we were able to work with even more young scientists and their families. Below are highlights from moment #2: Moment #3 celebrates another aspect unique to Kiddie Science: collaborative learning among adults and children. In some of our programs, young scientists and their adult caregiver explore and conduct experiments together, creating a deeper connection to science.
In continued celebration of community collaboration, moment #4 highlights our trip to The Youth Farm. This summer, our young scientists and their adults explored how food gets to their plate. In addition to touring the urban farm located right here in Brooklyn, we made a freshy picked salad and aerated the on-site compost bin.
Our young scientists are the driving force of our mission. In addition to guiding them through a fun exploration of science, we also learn from them. Naturally curious, children see the world much differently than adults do, and its always refreshing to explore a different perspective.
Moment number 5 celebrates our young scientists. Moment #6 celebrates you!
This year, we were humbled by the outpouring of support we received from supporters near and far. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! |
