Your support has made it possible for the Kiddie Science Lab to continue to grow and plant the seeds of science into the hearts and minds of young scientists. Thank you!
Our next big project is the implementation of an Engineering Center, a section of the Lab where young scientists can tinker and create through guided and open-ended exploration. The Engineering Center will be comprised of three main parts:
Vertical Pegboard
A 6-foot section of wall will be dedicated to a pegboard where young scientists can engineer levers, pulleys, and fulcrums to create a vertical marble run, a maze, structures, and much more. The vertical pegboard will be a permanent part of the Engineering Center, allowing our young scientists ongoing opportunity to tinker and think.
Vertical Magnet Board
Two large whiteboards mounted on the wall allows our young scientists opportunity to explore engineering through the use of magnets. Also a permanent part of the Engineering Center, young scientists will explore magnetic gears, levers, and more to meet guided challenges and freely explore magnetic movable parts.
Build & Create
100% supported through generous in-kind donations from individuals like you, the Build & Create section of the Engineering Center features open-ended building items such as Lego, K'nex, wood plank blocks, wooden marble maze, and Brakitz. These items will be available to young scientists to freely explore on a rotating basis.
We've secured 90% of the materials needed for the Engineering Center!
You can support our young scientists through an in-kind donation from our Amazon Wish List.
Below are pictures of the Engineering Center as it develops. Thank you for your support!
