Prior to our exploration on homes and buildings, our young scientists learned about structures. We explored the strength of various structures, and specifically focused on the power of the triangle. Using toothpicks and gumdrop candies, our young engineers had the challenge of designing a structure that could stand tall and bear some weight. |
As part of the engineering process, our young engineers learned about blueprints and the role they play in helping plan what a structure will look like. After looking at several actual blueprints, we designed our own based on either a real or imagined home. Thanks to the generosity of individual donors, our young engineers are able to use their blueprints to guide their home design using Lego bricks.
The Kiddie Science Engineering Club is 100% funded through monetary and in-kind donations from supporters just like you. Thank you!
