Since our inception in 2013, Kiddie Science has aimed to keep programs affordable for all our families. Within the last nine months, we have presented twelve free science workshops in and around the local community. The overwhelming positive response and attendance at each workshop highlights the incredible need for increased access to free science programming.
In an effort to make the most impactful difference in the lives of our local young scientists, we present the School Break Science program. The goal of the School Break Science program is to engage school-aged children in meaningful science exploration during dates when public school is not in session. This program will engage young scientists age 6 and up in hands-on exploration through a series of theme-based science workshops on topics including biology, chemistry, engineering, agriculture, physical science, energy, and more.
The School Break Science program will commence in September 2016 and conclude in June 2017. During this time, Kiddie Science aims to present a total of 24 free science workshops in addition to two special community-based events. Our goal is to directly impact the lives of at least 280 young scientists (minimum of 12 participants per workshop).
With your support, the School Break Science program will be presented at no cost to participants. Science is everywhere, and understanding how it’s part of our daily lives gives children a great foundation for success. Studies show that exposure to STEM programs increase the likelihood of graduation and pursuit of STEM-related careers. As a Champion for Young Scientists, you ensure that the children of our community are able to access quality science programming while school is not in session.
