These bumpy seeds will soon grow into something delicious! Swiss Chard is a leafy member of the beet family. Best known for its bright and colorful stem, Swiss Chard is rich in iron, calcium, and vitamins. The delicious and nutritious leaves can be harvested as early as 8 inches tall, or roughly 65 days after germinating. Leafy green vegetables need a lot of water to thrive, and chard is no different. Regular, consistent watering in the summer months ensure the leaves stay green and supple. The "Bright Lights" variety we planted is expected to yield multi-colored solid and striped stems, as well as both deep red and green leaves. At full growth, this variety of Swiss Chard can grow up to 20 inches tall. |
