A new study shows that the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs had help...from volcanoes. By studying the layered lava flows from millions of years ago, scientists believe that eruptions were happening well before the asteroid hit. It is believed that volcanic activity contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs, 66 million years ago. |
