This week, we focused on botany and learned about the growing cycle of our garden. Young scientists explored dill and were able to observe and harvest its seeds. We learned that most of the Lab garden plants come from seeds harvested from previous year's gardens. Garden care has been the highlight of our morning, with young scientists carefully peeking under leaves to see which garden goodies are ready for harvest.
Our young scientists made herb greenhouses to care for at home, which extends the learning well outside our walls.
In addition to our exploration, we also cared for and spent time with the Lab turtle, Spaghetti, and our backyard hens. We even got to hold a freshly laid egg and marveled at how it was still warm!
